Introduction

KataLabs (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides personalized 5-week training and nutrition plans through our mobile app, KataFit. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using KataFit, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information

• Name and email address — provided when you sign up. Used to authenticate your account and communicate with you about your subscription and account.

Health and Fitness Information

• Bodyweight, height, age, goals, experience level, available equipment, training schedule, dietary preferences, and injuries — provided during onboarding and used to generate your personalized training and nutrition plans.
• Workout completion data and progress logs — created as you use the app.

Subscription Information

• Apple In-App Purchase receipt and subscription status — processed through Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat) to verify and manage your KataFit Pro subscription. We do not collect or store your payment card information.

Usage Data

• App interaction events (which screens you visit, which features you use) — collected for product personalization and app functionality.

Information We Do Not Collect

KataFit does not collect:

• Your precise or coarse location
• Browsing history, search history, or contacts
• Photos, audio, or microphone access
• Information from other apps or third-party data brokers
• Sensitive personal information (race, religion, sexual orientation, biometric identifiers)

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Generate and personalize your training and nutrition plans
• Authenticate your account and protect against fraud
• Process and manage your KataFit Pro subscription
• Improve the app's functionality and user experience
• Respond to your support requests
• Send you account-related communications (we do not send marketing email without your consent)

How We Share Your Information

We share limited information with the following service providers solely to operate the app:

• RevenueCat — subscription management. Receives your Apple App User ID and IAP receipt.
• Cloud Storage Provider — secure storage of your generated training and nutrition plans.
• Backend Hosting Provider — secure storage of your account and workout data.
• AI Plan Generation Providers — your onboarding inputs (goals, equipment, experience, injuries) are sent to large-language-model providers solely to generate your plan. We do not send your name, email, payment information, or precise identity. We do not allow these providers to use your data to train their models.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of KataLabs, our users, or the public.

Data Retention

We retain your account and fitness data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account through the in-app Settings → Delete Account flow, we delete your account, plans, and associated fitness data within 30 days. Some information may be retained longer if required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., resolving disputes, enforcing agreements).

Your Rights and Choices

• Access and update: You can view and update your account information in the app's Settings.
• Delete your account: You can delete your account in the app under Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent.
• Manage your subscription: Subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store. You can cancel at any time in your Apple ID settings.
• Data portability: Request a copy of your data by emailing us (see Contact Us below).
• Residents of the EU/UK (GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, and port your data, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
• California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, and to opt out of sale (note: we do not sell your personal information).

Children's Privacy

KataFit is rated 13+ and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will delete it.

International Users

KataLabs is operated from the United States. If you use our service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using KataFit, you consent to this transfer.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top. If the changes are material, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of KataFit after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
